In response to Colorado’s education crisis, a coalition of business and civic leaders has assembled to put the needs of students first and push for policies and practices that deliver results. Colorado Succeeds’ goal is to secure the resources, apply the strategy, and achieve the critical mass necessary to counter the interest groups and bureaucratic barriers that hinder great teaching, learning and achievement.

The P-20 model (pre-school through grad school) presents an opportunity to impact every student, in every school, across the state of Colorado – a holistic, systemic approach toward education reform.  It requires a multifaceted strategy to establish and implement policies and practices that produce excellence in the education system.

Colorado Succeeds works to achieve systemic change, by focusing on the most critical statewide policy issues.  Our objective is to ensure that Colorado’s education policies and practices are created and executed according to what is best for students, which simultaneously serves the best interests of the state’s business environment, economy and quality of life.   The reform-minded policy agenda includes:

  • Expanding Parental Choice
  • Turning Around Chronically Low-Performing Schools
  • Human Capital Management / Great Teachers and Leaders
  • Rigorous Standards and Assessments
  • Increasing Career and Technical Education Programs
  • School Finance / Return on Investment
  • Early Literacy
  • Ending the practice of “Social Promotion”
  • Accountability / Consequences
  • Transparency
No problem can be solved by the same consciousness that created it. We need to see the world anew.
